Summertime is here and thanks to our many devoted customers, things have been going so well over the past years, we have made the addition of a second location for Maguires Wines. We have opened up a store in Canton, CT at The Shoppes at Farmington Valley. This will give us a better chance to help more people experience the wonderful world of wine and also give us more opportunity to expand our ever-growing selection of wines, spirits and beers. So now we have two convenient locations for customers to come and visit us.
When I think of summer I think of backyard barbecues, hanging out by the pool with friends and a generally more casual atmosphere. I believe that summertime should be about spending time with family and friends to enjoy each other’s company and not to have to worry so much about what foods and beverages I might be serving. I say keep it simple, whether your version of simple is slow cooked ribs, grilled fish or good old hot dogs and hamburgers. We at Maguire’s wines have been searching high and low for simple, easy to serve wines that you can be proud to serve your guests without having to break the bank. We have a great selection of light refreshing whites from all over the world, to the dry rose wines that we all read so much about this time of year, and as usual lots of succulent reds to show off that barbecue recipe you‘ve spent so many hours slow cooking.
Now I know that this time of year isn’t all about wine. Lots of us are looking forward to a nice cold beer, whether on a weekend day after mowing the lawn, or an evening sitting on the porch after a hot day at work. That’s why we also carry a large selection of both micro brews, such as the Trout Brook Brewery’s Munich Lager in the featured section of our web site, and many of the more hard to find imports. And let’s not forget all the new malternative drinks, with the fruity flavors from apple to watermelon and everything in between, that can be so refreshing in the heat of the season.
So I hope that this summer when you think about your beverage needs, whether it be picking up a bottle of wine or a six-pack for an evening after work or you should need kegs and wine delivered for a big summertime extravaganza, you will come to Maguire’s Wines.
